Christmas Day! I had the idea to make a yummy hot soup for Christmas brunch and lo and behold we have a Potato and Leek Soup. It was a hit with the family and our taste buds. I had waited some time to work with my mom on making a soup. I always watch her using her emulsifier (such a great kitchen tool) to make her creamy soups and making this Potato and Leek Soup with her was priceless. Although this was only 1/10 of the dishes that we made for Christmas, it was one of the most special because it represented what the holidays are all about (at least for my Italian household): family and food.
